I cannot get the button to shift it from Park back together. There are two plastic pieces, not sure how they go back in. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to get the shifter know off and I have to put it into n to do this, but can't because I took the button off.

 

Anyone please! It is sitting in my driveway in pieces!

Follow linkage/cable to trans.Unhook at trans .E=brake on.Chock wheels.Shift at trans to neutral.
Question is.Why are you taking shifter apart?

 

Soda spilt onto the shifter and want to clean it all out.
