No, the fan stopped turning and the noise was still there.

Replacing the front hubs cured the noise. I figured it was a hub but I couldn't hear it at the hub and could hear it inside the car.

 

Oh, ok, I was replying to post #8. Post #9(which seems to have no relevance) was not showing yet. Glad you found the problem and got it fixed now. Strange that it was only audible from inside the vehicle. Thanks for updating, there have been some issues staying logged in with the new setup of the site. Seems to go away after a few times.
