Question about coolant recovery tank

I have a 2008 2LT with 2.4L engine (about 40K miles) and I just want to make sure I'm looking at the correct spot for the "cold fill line" on the coolant recovery tank when I do my visual inspections. It's difficult to tell from the owners manual (page 5-25) as the picture isn't exactly detailed.
I put a flashlight down there (on the left side when facing the car) and saw a "bump" on the back of the plastic tank pointing towards the engine. The coolant level was a little above the top of that mark. Am I looking at the correct spot and am I correct i assuming that my coolant level is ok? With the hot weather here I just want to be sure!

Sounds like you're looking at it correctly. Yes, the owners manual picture is a little hard to see, but the description seems to tell you where the level is supposed to be.

From the 2010 owners manual:

Thanks, FMG! That's the same picture in my 2008 manual. I appreciate the reassurance!

You're welcome Lawagz. I went through the same thing, wondering what that drawing in the owner's manual was supposed to be. Once you see a photo you realize what is what in the drawing.

BTW, it doesn't work right if there is too much fluid. The pressure from the radiator has to be greater than the weight of the coolant in the tank.

I just put a clear section in the lower half of the overflow hose so I can see if there's coolant in the tank.
Best to also look at the tank itself.

Thanks to everyone for your help! That picture in the manual leaves a LOT to be desired!!!!
Donbrew, thanks for the advice, my coolant level is right about at the same spot as in FMG's picture. Right at the top of that "notch" near the bottom of the tank.

I drew a black magic marker line on it when the car was up on the hoist. A little easier to see when looking down.
