Radiator fan not working 2006 hhr lt

Jumpered the fan works fuses good fan doesn't work with ac on and I have this sensor broke unsure what and where it goes. Located above alternator somewhere I believe due to wire

Unsure what sensor it is

My guess is that is the refrigerant pressure sensor. That is probably why the fan does not go on when AC is on; does it work otherwise?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Can you explain how you have a sensor in your hand and you don't know where it goes?

Yes was hanging down and no fan doesn't start till I directly add power by jumping it

That's the part but you have a problem.
Looks as though you've broken off the pipe that the sensor screws into. Not sure but that pipe may be integral to the hose block. You may have to replace that whole assembly to be able to reinstall the sensor.
