Radio and Rotors

Hi, everyone! This is my first post. My concerns are with my 2006 HHR. There are actually 3 problems. First is the radio/CD player. It seems (crazy as it sounds) as if whenever it rains (summer) or is cold (winter) my speakers don't work. You can barely hear it--almost sounds as if the speakers aren't even working. Second problem is, according to my mechanic, my rotors. I had them replaced last September because whenever I'd go down a long hill and put my brakes on, the front shook and shimmied all the way back through to the steering wheel. Now, about 3 months ago, it started again already and the mechanic says it might need new rotors again already. Third, I've had to replace a rear turn signal bulb twice in the past 3 months. Any ideas on what could be making them blow? Any help would be fantastic! My mechanic has no idea what could be causing the problem with the radio.

First of all,

I believe the radios are a problem with most non Pioneer equipped models, and or with those who haven't upgraded after. I wish I had a solution for you, but I do not.

If you are hard on your brakes, or live in a mountainous area, I would recommend full ceramic brake pads with your next rotors. They really are worth the money. And if you feel the need, drilled/slotted rotors.

For the brake lights, it could be that you have greasy hands or a short in your wiring. Check the wires, and rule that out first. Go from there. If you want an end-all for it though once you've checked for bad wire, try these.. HERE. Well worth the price, and I have a set of my own. Fellow owners have ooogled at them..

Good luck

Welcome to the site.

Speakers get wet and fail. Brakes have more to do with properly adjusting the rear drums.

Both problems have been addressed thousands of times on the forum. Give the search a try, you will find way more info than I can type here.
