Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
Hello, I am new here. I have a 2010 chevy hhr 2.2l and I was changing the gaskets on my intake manifold and this piece fell into the intake when I pulled it off. I have no idea where it goes, what it is, or what it does. I do know that if I start my engine now, the engine runs Hella rough, and the check engine light immediately starts blinking. I have a new one, I just need to know where this damn thing goes. I've called every part store, and 3 different dealerships and nobody knows what it is.
I've already tried that. It's not the same size. My spot there has its own special gasket and the inner area actually leads to nothing. When I pulled off the intake, I heard something drop and rattle, which is when I found it inside the intake.
Oldblue will probably know. He should check in in the morning, if not sooner.
Until then, maybe look closely at the throttle body, perhaps it fell off into the manifold.
I had given it a slight look when it happened, but it was nearly sunset and I was also blinded by a slight rage that a tiny piece of metal completely stonewalled my car, and literally nobody on the entire internet, nor any dealerships know where it goes. lol So I may have to look tomorrow to see if I overlooked anything.
That little piece is covered in oil and not much of a gasket left attached to it.
Maybe a previous owner replaced the intake gasket before, couldn’t figure out where that piece went so they just set it on top of the manifold ?
You were pulling the intake off and it somehow fell into the intake runner ? A 1 in a million shot.
A lot of lost tools get found in engine compartments also.

Just theorizing here.
It cant be because my car was running fine beforehand. And it's covered in oil because I touched it with oil covered hands. Once I pulled off the intake I heard something rattling, figured it to be a spare someone forgot to remove and put it back together, and now my car throws every intake and mass airflow code possible.
