Question Rattling Noises

Just bought a 2008 HHR last month under full warrranty thank goodness. Every little bump I go over or turn lots of rattling like something is really really lose or something. Any ideas what it could be? Noises mainly seem to be on left side of car from front end to rear? Please don't tell me its a lemon.

Ha ha, no noises are quite common in the HHR. I look at it this way, I'd rather have a car that rattles than one that the gas pedal gets stuck, and the brakes don't work.

I know how frustrating it can be though...

Is it a clunk in the front end? That might be a strut or sway bar links.... If it's just in the interior it's normal.

Rattle too

I have a rattle/vibration on my passenger side, it's inside or behind the dashboard. And it only happens when someone is sitting in the passenger seat, when i'm slowing down below 20 mph with braking or without braking. I can't figure it out?.

more than likely its your sway bar bushings from what Ive been told. I have this issue as well, and was suppose to change them out today till plans changed.

Cabin noise is non-existant for me, though the noise from my pipe is responsible for that, although before that my anchor loops chattered like you wouldn't believe......wait......we all have the hhr..... maybe you would beleive it

They don't all rattle. My 2007 is pretty rattle free, and we drag it behind our motor home quite a bit.

The only noise I hear is my wife telling me to change the radio station...

I got a very annoying rattle in the passenger side dash when going over bumps. I'm propably going to try and tackle that myself instead of having the dealer tear into my dash.

A Frame bushing?

could be your a frame bushing also.... i had that problem with my cobalt (same platform as HHR) it failed inspection and the mechanic told me it was one of the problems with the cobalts and his own HHR. he said it is a design flaw and should be replaced even if it is not under warranty. fortunatley my cobalt was under warranty. now that i have the HHR i'm waiting for the same noise.
