MY REAR BOWTIE EMBLEM HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW IN LESS THAN A YEAR BECAUSE THE GOLD PAINT HAS BEEN DELAMINATING NO SEAL? HOW CAN I GET BOWTIE EMBLEM SAFELY OFF OF LIFTGATE HANDLE IS IT GLUED ON? CAN I JUST LEAVE IT OFF? DOES ANYBODY MAKE A REPLACEMENT LIFTGATE HANDLE YET WITHOUT EMBLEM?PLEASE HELP ME I DONT WANT TO KEEP HAVING IT CHANGED NEW TO FORUM HELLO TO EVERYONE LOVE MY HHR

 

to the site! I am not aware of an aftermarket beauty bar without the emblem. Sindy had the front emblem taken off but I'm not sure on the rear? Try this thread: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...t=chevy+emblem

 

As HD just mentioned, there is no aftermarket replacement for the rear beauty bar. I believe the bowtie is a part of the beauty bar and can not be removed.

it can be removed. its like the front bowtie double sided tape, and has 2 (maybe 3) centering posts.

 

Why not just have it painted, like this:





That's a heck of a lot easier than replacing them all the time!
As you can see, I had the beauty bar color matched to the body also.

So on the back bow tie their are centering posts too?
How would you take off the plastic bow tie cover to get to the painted gold part or film. Would you use fishing line, heat gun, etc? If so how would you get the gold part off? Would you sand it or could you just peel it off? Is it attached to back of plastic part of bow tie lense? I have notified the dealer and they have ordered a new lift gate handle. They say it is all one piece but the schematic shows bow tie as separate piece. It seems like a waste of time to replace it every time. After 36,000 miles it will be my problem.
