Ever try getting the adhesive residue from Duct Tape off after a few days?

Painter's tape should do the trick for him, and it won't leave such a mess.

Unless he got the blue tape that gets permanent after 2 days, you gotta read the label.

The new motor arrived and I installed it. 3 nuts for the motor and 2 for the clamps to the window. The process took about 5 minutes. It too much longer to get the blue painters tape, holding the window up, off. Once the tape was off, the window worked to perfection. Now I need to get some of the panel snaps as I broke 3 removing the door panel.

at least the window is fixed, and yes I have had to remove the residue from blue tape and duct tape, WD-40 a squirt and it lifts off, but not very easily

Those snaps, rivets, plugs or whatever you want to call them, are usually available at your local auto parts store. No need to pay the high dealer price for a couple pieces of plastic.
Look in the "Help" section at the parts store. I usually buy them in the bulk package because I know I'll break or lose one the next time I pull a panel.

Cool - glad you got it fixed. And Firemangeorge had a good tip there about the replacement fasteners - I've done that myself, and they often have a bulk pack of an assortment with different sizes. Very handy for the toolbox.
