remote door opener
Hi. Have a 2008 LS. Remote door opener is malfunctioning. It used to start the car as well as open and lock it. Now it just opens the doors. Is there any way it can be fixed ar replaced? How much would it cost?

Suggest you start here:

If it is a Remote or FOB problem.
If it is a Remote Starting the engine problem there are other threads detailing just all the conditions that must be met before "Remote Start" can be done. First is the Check Engine Light on - if so, no go. Conditions can be found in the owner’s manual as well.

Just to clarify:
If you are meaning a totally new remote, complete with case, keypad, and circuit board, you are totally wrong.
A new remote like that has to be sync'd/programmed to the car - and most dealers charge $30-$80 for that as it involves reprogramming the car. A new remote cannot be programmed by an owner to the car like a lot of remotes. The car has to be programmed to the remote, and that is not a task that the owner can do.
Keylessfix has replacement keypads that work well to replace those with worn out contacts, and they apparently stand behind their product - whereas a number of the replacement pads from ebay can be a carp-shoot.

Agree with whopper, who almost always gives accurate advise
The keylessfix people, last I looked, charge $12.00 for the new pad. I bought one and it solved my problems. Easy repair also....takes about 10 minutes.
