Hey folks, Newby here. Thanks for letting me on your site! I just bought my 1st HHR 2007 and dont even have it home yet. But not to long fingers crossed!
anyway the reason for me asking is my HHR has power door locks but the PO lost or threw away the keyring remotes. Is there any way I can get new remotes to the existing keys and original PDL's Ill be the 3rd ownr. I see where you can buy a remote and new plugin control box for bout 30$ just wasnt sure if that is what i need.

You need a genuine GM fob, look on eBay etc. Then either have a Locksmith or a GM dealer match it to the car Or, buy the after market fob with program module and program the GM fob and the new fob with the programmer. The fobs supplied with the kit are questionable.

The fob has nothing to do with the key. Get a free digital Owner Manual via the link in my sig.

Note the different fobs, ensure your HHR has remote start, check the DIC or just open the hood and look for a wire at the hood latch assembly.

So are you guys saying if I don't have a wire under my hood latch that I do not have keyless remote? Reason Im asking , How else could i get into my back hatch if the switch under the bowtie didnt work? Can an aftermarket on be installed? and also maybe , just maybe work my door?

Remote start (RVS) is not the same as remote keyless entry (RKE). ALL HHRs came equipped with keyless entry; some 2006-2010s were ordered without remote start (mostly fleet orders), 2011 remote start was an option.
