Yes, I see your point. You might not be saving much since you have to pay the dealer to program it.

Yes they are the same circuit board, you can just buy a new case w/pad. If you have an option in your DIC to turn Remote Start on, you can use the it. A hint: Lock + panic= Remote start. You do need to press lock first then lock + panic.

ok I was by autozone today and after I showed them how to use the tester (lol) all the functions worked so now do I have to go to the steelership for help ?

it would be nice to have them working but I dont want to spend a bunch of $ to get it to work

no it didnt. my owners manual says to press and hold for about one second that didnt even work

2008s have that RCDLR problem, that could be it.

The tester only checks for A SIGNAL, not if it's the correct signal. That's kind of what I decided happened to mine.

You only need to hit the button once for a rear door to pop open..

Unlocking the vehicle front passenger door does require 2 hits on the fob.

so does that mean it is a dealership fix or can a tech 2 handle it ?

I had to take my replacement FOB to the dealer, local lock smith had no clue of what to do with it, the dealer was kind enough to reprogram and did not charge me, but I have been buying cars and parts from them since 1968! Man I'm old.

In my case it was a new fob + programing. After re program the old fob still only works partially, new one great.
