Question Remote won't respond, any last ideas?

My remote was working fine until I came out of a restaurant one day and it did not work anymore. I replaced the battery inside the remote and that did not help. I even went to my local Autozone and used their remote signal detector and all of my buttons are sending out a signal. So it sounds like my remote is working but my HHR is not responding back. What can I do on my own before I go back to the dealership? I really despise going to the dealership, I don't trust them from my previous experience.

Try disconnecting the battery for 20-30 mins. to reset the BCM. Worked for me.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I will give this a try. Are there any side effects from doing this? In other words, will disconnecting my battery for 30 mins do harm to my HHR?

Nope won't hurt anything. Just have to reset your radio presets!

the 30 minute battery fix worked for me last year, and I found half of my presets I don't use anymore, so maybe 2 birds with one stone for you!

Mine doing the same thing

Mine just recently started to intermittently work. Got progressively worse. Now, it works sometimes but mostly not. Did change battery in remote. I hope this battery disconnect trick works, but I know my luck. Thanks for the tip.

How did the disconnection of the battery do for you?
