Any easy fix may be to buy a different wheel from a junk yard, and transfer over the control modules if they are not all on the new one.. probably be easier, and less hassle.

Isn't there the Air Bag issues in doing that.

Since this is a new car I would probably just buy a new LS wheel if the application were correct for transfering the controls over.

In looking at the current wheel, it doesn't look to hard to just cut the stitching and remove the leather.
Just don't want to get ahead of my self.

I would imagine it's glued and there's not a "regular" steering wheel under that leather. (Regular meaning stock plastic wheel)

It's actually been done. You can buy them, and transfer things over.. The air bag has a wiring harness you unplug I imagine, and swap to the new wheel. This should also hold true for the control modules.

Just looking at the leather wheel on the car and handling it all around, it feels like it might just be the Plastic LS wheel.
Not sure if the GM Parts Dept guys can figure it out as the part numbers probably don't break it down to the individual wheel parts like whats under the leather ??

Why do you want to take off the leather ? Just get a stock wheel and swap it out. It's not a big deal, there got to be someone on here the will trade you out for your leather wheel. there are wheels on eBay all the time .

Take off leather? A Personal thing...

The way I am holding the Steering wheel other then short trips, the stiching in all the corners protrudes out to where it really irratates my hand and fingers after 20-30 minutes or so.
No problem with my hand on the top of the wheel but I ride with the driver seat set a bit back and thats a bit of a stretch for the long haul.

A Brand New Leather Steering Wheel anybody ???? Car has 130 miles on it.

Lets Make a Deal.....

I stopped and looked and an LS stock wheel today and it is the plastic but with a different control setup. Only the Cruise side set up.
A stock 1LT wheel without the Factory Blue tooth Link Package should have the right wheel.
That package for some unknown reason includes the wrapped leather wheel.

Silverfox-

Once you get another wheel, you can use your buttons, & mounting trim.
