Removing bumper protector

I installed a bumper applique on my SS, now don't like the looks. I assume it's 3M tape. Will I be able to heat it with a hair dryer and pull it off without taking paint with it?

Don't know what your applique looks like(pic) or if you can get some dental floss between it and the bumper, but sawing with the floss works on the double back tape quite well. I've removed several of the appliques on my HHR.

I pulled the chiclets off with fishing line. I guess it should work the same. It's an awful long piece of plastic, though. I should have rested it on the bumper for a couple hours first to make sure I liked it. I'm surprised how much it changes the appearance by breaking up that red paint. I'm going to leave it alone for a few weeks to see if it grows on me.
