2010 with bad 2.2 engine,,do I need too stay with a 2.2,, or can I use a 2.4 in its place and if so what would I have to change to get it to hook up?

 

Keep it simple.
Stay with what you have.
Less problems.
What year is yours ?

 

They will interchange physically, 2009 and up 2.2’s have VVT as do the 2.4 .
Sensors may need to be changed for the new 2.4.
I suggest you do some investigating and compare part numbers .
The throttle body might have a different connection.
The ECM might be programmed differently.
