right low beam problem

I have an issues with my 09 HHR the passenger side head light is not working on low beam ,High beam works , my auto light which I am guessing is the low beam is not working either. I have replaced the bulb ,test all fuses, and test the power to the socket all my test are good I have power to the socket but still get no low beam. Any suggestions and this is only on the passenger side.

Loose ground, loose relay, those are separate in the under hood fuse panel

X2. Check the ground wire to the headlight for continuity.

Still have the original bulbs in my 2006. I occasionally have a problem with the high beams going out when I use the turn signal. Of course it's late at night when I'm coming home and it works fine the next day.

I have checked relays and the ground , this is what's got me confused I have power to the socket that the bulb goes into but even a new bulb does not work . The only thing I can think of is I have a short in the socket? But then if that was so I would think the high beam would not work , but it works fine.

Sometimes a meter can read 12V on a jack but when the current to light a headlamp is called for it can't conduct it. You may have corrosion in your headlight socket's jacks. A can of contact cleaner from an electrical supply store and a little brushing might clean it right up.

Good luck with it, keep us posted about the fix when you get the time.

Have you tested the new bulb?

I moved this to a new thread, since evidently it has nothing to do with the long thread it was piggy backing on.

Do the DRLs work? That may be where you are getting 12V from.

Each low beam and each hi beam has it's own fuse the DRLs have 1 fuse. They all share the same ground.

Note the odd way the DRLs are wired; the right side is fused 3 times.

Maybe you don't know you have DRL?

Auto is DRL during the day then low beam at night.

Did you mean to comment on some part of this unrelated thread, or did you want to start a new issue?
