security horn disable
[QUOTE=whopper;642832]If it is just that your contacts inside are dirty - give them a cleaning with some alcohol and a q=tip, and/or check https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/repair-key-fob-remotes-worn-out-contacts-30813/ - I rebuilt my fobs almost 2 years ago, and they are still going strong.
I had had enough over my weekend.
I followed the directions to rebuld (or replace the black dots) the back of the rubber of the kefob.
I now have 2 working keyfobs,

THANKS FOR THE STEP BY STEP instructions on repairing the push buttons on the fobs.
The wife is a happy camper agan.

BTW. all new silicone pads are available for a couple of $s on ebay, you don't need to do all of that work or pay for the "fob fixer" thingy. You can get a whole new case with the silicone buttons for less than $10 shipped.
HHR Lock & Horn
I finally figured this out from putting several message threads together. Before you get out of the car, use the power lock button to lock all the doors. Then manually unlock the driver's door, before you shut the door manually push the lock knob down. Shut the door. When you open the door the next time the horn won't beep and all 4 doors will have been locked.
