Security lighting low or highbeam?

When you unlock the car and the headlights come on for security, is it the lows or highs?

Because it's confusing the hell out of me that when I'm driving the left side low beam is out(got pulled over lastnite and given a warning instead of the $110 fine), however when I unlock the car both lights are on. If its the highs that come on then I can be satisfied it's just the bulb and I'll take the opportunity to upgrade to silverstars until I get depos and HIDs(they sell them as a combo on fleabay for like $300). Before anyone asks, yes I have checked the left side low beam fuse, and I noticed none of my fuses were fully seated so pushed in all fuses, relays and breakers lol

I have had my HIDs for almost 2 years have never had HI-BEAMS only LOW beams the company that I had them installed have had them in for repair about 6 times have ordered relays 3 times still no hi-beams now they want to replace the whole system, i just am getting tired of them not getting repaired, so will just have to live with only LOW-BEAMS.

Couldn't find Silverstar Ultra or GE Nighthawk in H13 on my travels today, so I picked up some Silvania Xtravisions, along with a basic billet shift knob(peeling chrome on the stock knob cut my finger), and some fuzzy dice because you gotta have fuzzy dice. They're almost as bright as silverstars apparently, we shall see though.
