Okay so my 2008 HHR LT is doing the same thing but my car will only start with a jump. And dies a few seconds after started.. I have put in a new battery and a new alternator. I have also cleaned and reseated all fuses in fuse box under hood and also on the BCM. Tonight i replaced the main fuse to the BCM (by the battery) the new fuse is a little different then the old one. Not sure that matters. But its still not working. Scanned and got a code for BCM. But still not sure. Any ideas????
I was told that the BCM main fuse is by tne battery so i went amd got a new one. But the new one is a little different then the old one. Not sure that matters..but didnt change anything. Still will only start with a jump and will only stay running for about 30 seconds with all the dash amd radio lights flashing on and off and the wsx service tracking esc off power steering livhts bells amd whistles come on ans car dies again i just cant figure out the issue. Maybe needs a whole new BCM?? Bottom fuse is the old one top is new
It doesn't mean what you think it means. It means that one or more of these modules is getting less than 9 volts: BCM, Instrument panel, radio or The SDM.
So, first step is to ask what is not working? Does the radio work? Does the instrument panel work? Does the airbag system work?
My first guess would be fuse #13 on the BCM.
The U2129 means the RCDLR is without power or the data line is broken. That would be fuse #23 on the BCM.
Check the fuses with a meter not your eyes.
Check for power to each of the modules, The SDM is under the console behind the shifter.
okay i will try that when i get home today, and ill let you know if anything changes. Radio works fine, instrument panel works until it does this and now when you start the car instrument panel just flashes and such then the car dies, not sure about the air bag system, I just got this car in march of 2020. starting to think I just need to say screw this car and get me a truck. But Ill try checking the fuses, replacing the fuses and then see what happens. Thanks for the advice.
