Shift Solenoids done but NEW P0842 code
Thanks so much. I followed your link donbrew to the free shop manual. Extremely helpful. I値l be taking it apart again today. I知 going to time myself how long it takes to get it apart again. Lol. And I assume (from shop manuals directions) that it will be safe to put the fuse block back together for testing. Obviously not start the car, but turn the key on.
I値l clean all the contacts test the tcc and the pressure switch and the relative connectors and feel more sure I will find the issue. I値l update this evening. 👍

Got the job done in just 8 hours total. Everything looked good. But. I got the code again!
I then took apart the harness to the trans and rechecked ohms on ALL the components again. No problem. So I decided to check continuity to the Tcm. All looked good. Then boom!
car won稚 start and no communication with Ecmc/pcm
took me a bit to wiggle around wire harness enough it would start again. BUT now I get P0717 and P0973 I have got the Tcm cable connector apart and cleaned it all as best I could.
still not good. New harness? I値l have to get one on Monday.

What damage do you see on the wires? That would be the only reason to replace the harness. If you checked continuity on all of the wires the harness is not the problem.
More likely a pin or 2 did not seat when replugged. The pins can get bent or pushed out the back of the connector. Some recommend using dielectric grease to help get the pins seated.
