Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
I have a 2008 HHR SS with a 6-CD Changer radio system. Occasionally, more often than not, when listening to the radio or one of the CDs, the system will go off and give an error about auxiliary input. Sometimes turning the radio off and back on it'll work again sometimes not with the same error. A local stereo specialty shop says nobody works on them anymore and wants to sell me a unit for, installed, for just over $800.
Looking around for a replacement I found a Pioneer DMH-WT3800 unit with a touchscreen display and Apple Carplay. Since I have the songs from the CDs on my Apple iPhone I'm not losing any music capability and gaining the capabilities of my major iPhone apps. This unit I can get for $700.installed through Best Buy. Does this sound like a good replacement? Any other suggestions? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pioneer...?skuId=6530257
Something like this may be worth a look.
I just got a basic radio that really has some decent features, just not the Apple and Android stuff directly.
I already spent a bunch on the phone, so no need to spend hundreds and hundreds on a radio. Not in the car enough.
I can use all the apps on the phone and have the sound come thru the car speakers with bluetooth, 3.5mm cord or usb cord. It can also use a flashdrive for audio or music.
This unit is half depth and right around $100, A few years old now and still sounds fantastic. I also put in new speakers for another $100.
Best of all is using the sound system for telephone calls, perfectly clear. Mic was included.
Model no is on the top left of the image.
