Slow fuel fill and missing fill neck flap

Filling up yesterday, it was painfully slow and kept auto shutting off the station pump. Was all set to blame it on a clogged vent line but figured I'd send my usb inspection camera down the filler hose to check for obstruction. But didn't need to. As soon as I took the gas cap off, I noticed the flapper on the nozzle hole missing.

I'm was going to disconnect the fill hose at the tank, but does anyone know if there's any sort of screen or anti-siphon do-hickey any where along the fill route? Trying to figure the most likely place the flap woulda lodged. Thanks!

Just inside the fuel tank at the neck into the tank where the hose clamps to the fuel tank
