Welcome to the site, mercfvr. HHR's have a few quirks in the front end, we will need a more detailed description to pinpoint which one yours has. Lots of time it's only the swaybar links, or bushings. I would guess the strut top bearing needs replacing....but that's just a guess.

Welcome to the site.

X2 with what SS fan posted.

Without a noise description, it's impossible to guess.

FWIW. Always post up your car info when asking for help. Year, model, engine size and mileage at the least.

Welcome to the site! Have a read thru the site or url, there are lots of parts to check out and throw at the HHR to try, or it can be a combo so don't despair.
We have all had to chase that clunk!

to the forum Brian!

As you've no doubt noted by the replies above, HHR's can develop clunks, clanks, rattles, and squeaks in their front ends.

It can be a "hit 'n miss" deal in tracking down and silencing the noises, but patience will pay off, and an description of the noises will help us to help you narrow things down.

Now we know what year but you still didn't say what kind of noise. A little hard to try and help you without a description of the noise and when it does it( starting noise, hitting bump noise etc. )
