SS Trans

I have just under 15K on my SS now, its a 5spd, in 3rd 4th and 5th when i put about half throttle to WOT the clutch slips, I don't hot rod it constantly. anyone else have a clutch problem so early?

You can get the clutch to slip pretty easily if the clutch is cold and you're at low rpm's. It doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem (with the car).

And just an FYI, even if you're only at half throttle, the throttle body will be commanded to 100% a lot of times until you get up to speed.

jonboyb has had the same issues....he has like 65k now but has had the same issues since very early on....about the same mileage as you. gm won't help him out at all. i believe it only happens when its cold

If i am going 50mph and drop to 3rd it will slip, if i go to 4th same speed it slips, same in 5th. this is all after the car is up to temp. I always let the vehicle warm before any quick shifts or any aggressive driving. Low rpm's say 30mph in 3rd it will slip. 45 in 4th or 5th I don't even have to have full throttle for it to happen.

a fully engaged clutch should NOT slip. if it does, its worn out or the pressure plate is not fully released.
