steering wheel question

ok i dont know what to search for. i searched for shudder but it is not a shudder.

ok ill start at the beginning, i did a brake job, changed the pads and rotors, during the winter. then all was fine for a few months. then when u step on the brake pedal the steering wheel pulls to the left. i then took apart the brakes and replaced the slides that the pads ride on. it got better. then it returned. i know the rotors are fine.

any ideas?? is this an issue with the electric power steering??

Year and mileage would help.
May have a LCA bushing worn out causing the suspension to flex to that side.
Could also be a sticking caliper on the right.
Any number of possibilities.

Power steering? How?
The problem with the power steering is when it stops being "power" and the faint of heart can't steer it.

Nope it's a caliper hanging up or the afore mentioned LCA rear bushings!! The one on the right was supposed to have been just fine!! Now that being said, also double check your ball joints and inner and outer tie rod ends! Just to be sure!

sorry i have not been on lately and couldn't respond.

it is more than a pull tho it is more closer to a jerk. i know the jerk is typing this.

it is a 2006 2.4l 2lt. sorry thought the description appeared on the left here.

about 6mnths to a year ago i replaced the wheel bearings, LCA's and endlinks.

it doesnt appear to occur constantly. it usually happens on the first 2 pumps of the brake. then it really isnt noticeable. i will take it apart and check out the rubber parts.

is there a way of checking a sticky caliper?? if i have never bled an ABS brake system, is it much different??

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES!!!

Shouldn't have anything to do with air in the fluid, but no difference.

Check your pads for uneven wear if the inner pad is wearing a lot more than the outer you have a hanging caliper. Could be either pins or piston/seal. The piston square cut O-ring is actually the return mechanism, or there could be corrosion inside.

The description does appear on the left, although I've seen many that had the wrong year or even car listed. Also doesn't show the mileage. Just wanted to know if were trying to help with a low, normal or high mileage car. Does make a difference when trying to suggest what to check out.

So you replaced the LCA's and endlinks. You may want to double check those and make sure they were correctly tightened and haven't worked loose.

Especially the ball joint to knuckle and the big bolt on the LCAs.

I don't see any info about the car, unless I got to the user's profile. That is 3-5 clicks that I can't be bothered with normally.

Yeah Don. I was referring to the user profile as I think the OP was too. I generally check those profiles when folks ask for help or info.
Problem is they're not always accurate and don't contain info like mileage. I've seen folks seeking help with profiles that said Acura,Thunderbird and other makes.
That's why I'll always ask for them to state the year, model and mileage.
