Still having issues with T/C light on!
I've had my HHR in the shop 3 times, and I still have issues with the T/C light being on and causing my vehilce to shift rough... I've had the cam senors replaced and still continue to have issues... I cannot afford to continue to take it to the shop every couple days...
IS THERE A WAY TO BYPASS THE T/C? Like remove a fuse or disconnect the ABS sensors in order for the vehicle to drive normal and not shift rough...
What are the results of me driving the vehicle with a rough shift while T/C light still on?
One more thing, Is the cruise control supposed to disengage when T/C light comes on? My cruise control works fine, even with the T/C light on...

To the OP:venomlegionsHHR: If you've been to the shop 3 times and can't get it fixed, it's time to find a NEW shop.
TCM acting up? Best thing to do is to try to get any and all codes read, and see if there are any for the TCM. Actually, the best bet would be to get it to a Chevy dealer in your area that you can trust.
Now here's a weird idea that I'll throw at you. Try the wiggle test too. I did it when experiencing issues like yours and found that by moving a bundle of wires under the hood my problems went away. Turns out the ones to the TCM were a tiny bit loose.

Just my opinion. Don't flame me too hard.
Just did my daughters 07 1LT 2.4. T/C light on, intake cam solenoid code. Replaced cam solenoid samething. started looking found wire to cam solenoid broken right at plug. repaired good to go. I see in your post that you say cam sensor and not cam solenoid. The two at top of eng. that are by cam covers. yes !
On second thought, me and my 33 years of auto repair expertise are bowing out on this one.
