Strange noise on cold start

I have been getting strange noise on cold start. My HHR sounds like a helicopter in the mornings, but afterwards the noise goes away. Is that normal?

I dicn't hear anything. Usually a chain rattle on cold start is the chain is loose; You may get away with just replacing the tensioner, but it might be the chain.

It sounds more like a big fan, DRRRRRR... 6-7 sec in the video

It is kind of difficult to tell the difference in the video, but that DRRRRR sound has been there on every cold start up. Definitely doesn't sound like anything related to the engine, more like a motor.

That was hard to hear clearly - but my guess would be the flex pipe leading down from the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter.

It might be a good idea to have someone else start the car while you listen under the hood?
