I have an 08 lt2. The other day I accidentally pushed both sunroof buttons at the same time. Now the sunroof close within about 3 inches from closing and reverses and opens. It wil close if I hold the button.

 

Close the roof, open the rear hatch, disconnected the negative cable to the battery for 30 minutes, put a towel over the hatch latch so it can't close on you.
After the 30 minutes reconnect the battery, start the HHR and it should be back to normal

 

I pulled the positive off, is this the same thing? Problem still exists.

 

No the positive can spark and while undoing the clamp your wrench could contact ground and short out the battery.
Ok how long was it disconnected?
Over 15 minutes?
You might need to replace the switches

 

Since you clearly can't follow directions; did you open the hatch and pull the cargo floor up to get to the battery? Or did you think the black boxey thing under the hood is the battery?

 

Battery in back, off for 30min.

 

I will try negative.

 

The positive will have the same reset effect. But the negative is the much safer way to do it.
