Sunroof and Headliner
had it back in just got back from a trip.. it just turned over 36,000 ( i do have an extended warranty) got an oil change and they were supposed to fix it but its still there, i can push up on the headliner and it will stop for a while then it comes back. But what really ticks me off, they got my headliner dirty...... i took it right back and told them about it but they were at lunch. and i had to get to the ball park... going to take it back monday...
I had to turn my radio off today while someone was on the phone, and the sunroof was open...fairly certain I heard rattling coming from it..... I've never noticed it before because I always have the radio on fairly loud. I agree....cheap insulation would be my guess.
I have a Sunroof on my 08 Never had a problem with it. HOWEVER when i was test driving the HHR's, I had another HHR that was rattling obviously i wasn't about it buy that one. Me and the Sales person though it was coming from the Sunroof . He gave it to one of techs to work on, Come to find out it wasn't the sunroof at all. It was the Luggage Rack where they Bolt on to the car. That was causing the rattling.

vschriver.....
To "coin" a much overused phrase....I feel your pain.
I understand your exasperation, with multiple visits to the dealer for the SAME SERVICE. My opinion...totally unacceptable, especially on easy stuff like your problem.
I suggest a call to the Customer Service Center, phone number is in the back of your Owners Manual, and another attempt by the dealer. But this time, speak with the Service Manager and express your concern regarding the continued visits for THE SAME REPAIR.
You might offer some SUGGESTIONS, such as....if the male and female Velcro strips are parting....then maybe they should press and "wiggle" it more (tests have shown that the more vibration on Velcro, the better it holds).
If one OR the other is separating because of lack of adhesion material, then perhaps some "gorilla" type glue should be used to hold each of the strips to their respective backing.
