Sunroof squeaks
I had my HHR in about 6 months ago for a sunroof which did not shut when using the auto close feature. The dealer, of course, could not replicate the problem (ie. they did not want to figure out why it was happening so they said they couldn't replicate it.) They did however lube my tracks and said the sunroof operated better.
Point being, if it squeaks let the dealer lube it or figure out what is wrong.
My car will actually be in the shop next week to hopefully fix my auto close function. A new shop during my oil change last week looked into the problem and they believe it might have to do with the switch. They ordered a new one and will be swapping it.

I have a problem with my sunroof, but it's not a squeak. It's a ticking sound that is set up by some kind of vibration. This is a very intermitent problem. All I have to do to stop it is put my hand up on the headliner and it stops. Something is touching something. You would think I would be able to find what is causing this, but I can't. Had it back at the dealer, but that was no help. Any ideas?
I just picked up a 2007 with a sunroof and found small pieces of glass in the track that made an awful sound when the roof opened. Cleaned out all the glass and no noise. The up and down feature is still a bit noisy. Also had to have the dealership order some new struts for the hatch. One is making a clicking noise when the hatch is openned.
HMMM, glass in the tracks??? Was this car broken into prior to purchase? The next time mine goes in I am having them look at my rear hatch as well. Noticed a new sound similar to yours that wasn't there previously.
I've got an intermittent noise in my sunroof also for no apparent reason;can't relate it to temperature ect. I solved the problem by doubling up a 4"X4" piece of packing foam and wedging it in between the sunroof shade and the frame below it. If you lift up on the shade you can tell if this will help or not. I did not want to go thru the hassle of having the dealer pull down the headliner with unpredictable results. Hope this helps someone else.
