What size sway bar bushings does the HHR take and what size sway bar linkage do I need.

Please use the search. Both questions have been covered ad infinitum.

10 inch links NOT 12 inch.
bushings depends on your exact car.

This will take you where you need to go,

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/fron...-part-i-48833/

The sway bar was 23 mm for 2006, and all SS 2008 thru 2010

2007 thru 2011 LS/ LT the swaybar was 25 mm but please measure twice and order once!

How much should labor cost to do this job? Both the sway bar links and sway bar bushings at the same job? I'm having a lot of noise up front over bumps? The front struts were replaced last year with Monroe quickstruts so I'm thinking it can't be them. thanks.

Check with your local mechanic or dealer - they charge varying rates, so it's hard to tell what they would charge. A rough estimate on the time involved: sway bar links = 1 hour - sway bar bushings = 1.5 hrs - to do them both at the same time 2 hrs.

They are not that difficult to replace - replacement of both are well covered in the how-to section of the forum here. Minimal tools are required - one will get their hands dirty though.

Okay thanks. I know I can do the sway bar links but the bushing seems a bit hard to get to for my skill level and lack of a hoist and everything is called with snow right now we just had about 6" this week.

Ahhhh. here in Can-A-Duh, we just back it up into, and on top of a snow bank just enough to get clearance under the front doors, so we can work on stuff like the sway bar bushings.

Here's an interesting thread regarding replacing the SBar bushings and the end links: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/brak...ushings-35868/

Here are some links to some Hot-to's on those and other issues you might find helpful: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...d-links-38985/

Thanks for the info! So I know for a fact it's the sway bar bushings a local shop checked everything down there, they said links are fine still and it has new struts already but they want $266 to do the job parts and labor..yeah no way the bushings cost like $20 bucks right?

Yup - aftermarket ones are in the neighbourhood of $20 - I'd hate to know what the GM ones are though. Pretty much any auto parts store should be able to set you up with the right parts at a reasonable cost.
