Why buy the wrong parts and then try to pawn them off on anyone of us?
We know the correct part numbers and fitments per

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...-part-i-48833/

Speaking of wrong parts those lower control arms are the cheap stamped steel ones, not the correct cast aluminum units our HHRs are built with.

That is exactly the reason I asked.

Whenever you are referring to an item you want advice on, PLEASE post the link to it - it saves everyone from playing the game of 20 questions, and numerous posts.

Glad everyone jumped in with the good info. Would have been a shame to purchase the wrong stuff.

Sorry, I usually hesitate to do that when I only have one source for something as I have had forum members (from other forums) shanghai parts out from under me in the past.
Missed out on some great deals on Mustang parts that way a while back

Yeah, the eBay guys don't worry too much about accuracy or truth in advertising do they? That is why there are very few things I get off of there
Unfortunately, the batch of parts this CL guy has does appear to include the steel LCAs so I will not be getting that.

Very good to also know the LCAs should be cast aluminum since that is not mentioned anywhere in the https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...-part-i-48833/.
One has to actually find and read the "How To" from Whopper to get that little nugget, so thanks George.

Maybe someone could edit the list of "Illusive Common Parts" to include more specific fitment info like "Moog K750012 - 9.86" (for FE1 suspension) and that the LCAs should be cast aluminum?
(By the way folks, that should be "Elusive Common Parts" as the two words have very different meanings.)

Fwiw. My SS has the shorter 10 inch links. Those 12 inch links were only on a very few of the earlier HHR's.
There doesn't seem to be any list that shows when those 12 inch links were used,,,,,or why.
To be honest, I think it was some sort of factory mistake. Pretty sure the 10 inch ones would work on any HHR. But, I could be wrong.

Updated the list to show Elusive rather than illusive - gotta have someone keeping it righteous out there. Thanks

Regarding the different lengths, I've just added a mention that one should measure theirs before ordering replacements. I'm not sure if the 12" ones were ever ORIGINAL equipment, but where installed as replacements. Regardless measure once, order once. Wait..... if one wanted to compensate for one side of their car being heavier than the other, I guess you could mismatch them, putting the longer one on the heavy side?

Prove that the parts are not exactly the same product that Moog sells. Moog is no longer a manufacturer of auto suspension parts, they are a floor in a huge office building owned by Federal-Mogul. They are a supplier of automotive suspension part.

They might still actually manufacture a few parts, but nowhere near their entire catalog.

OMG; now we have to go through that again.

You'd have to have some serious biceps to make that work. Hook up one side, then to get the other side bolted up, you would have to get the sway bar to twist 2 inches.
C'mon whopper. Show us your guns !

I found that out on my first set. I tried to do one side at a time and had not bothered to measure. It can be done if you are determined, I was.

I'm still of the school, press out the old press in the New for the LCA bushings, Moog K200792, and their bolt in ball joints K80567
