Tell us about your Front End Noise

Tell us about your Front End Noise
I just replaced the lower control arm rear bushings, sway bar links and the strut tower top bearing plate. The strut tower top bearing plate make a knocking noise like the front end is ready to fall off. The lower control arm rear bushings cause the alignment to go out and make the brake rebound when released. Appears to be a poor design.

similar noises

i own a 2007 hhr with the 2.4
i bought it with 29000
i have 57000 miles and i am not sure when it started making the same noises
it is a pronounced clunk/ rattle that seems to come from the left front
but i also lived in chicago area and our roads are pretty beat up at winters end

i also was experiancing steering wheel shudder when braking but new pads and rotors stopped that.

i also replaced both headlights after the one burnt out, i recommend
taking the tires off and removing all the screws and fasteners to gain as much access to the headlights, wasnt too bad tho!

I have a clunking/rattle noise on the passenger side I think. It is hard to tell. My steering wheel also shutters when I brake. I had replaced pads and rotors from NAPA and the problem went away for about 28k miles but know is back. I've checked under the front end for anything loose but can't find anything.

Typical groan when going over something like a speed bump, only when cold, though. Once car has been driven for awhile, or in warm weather, no noise.

Had dull clunk when driving over rise or dip in the road. Dealer replaced all suspension bushings (luckily under warranty), now it's quiet.

I am bringing mine in next week (under warranty) to have the "clunk" in the left front end checked out. I will ask them to check the suspension bushings.

Define all suspension bushings. "Moon"

I still have a clunk. Already replaced lower control arm bushings (at rear of front control arm), Struts, top strut bearing plate, sway bar links.
Now trying to determine where the clunk is coming from - ball joints or CV joints?

I installed new control arms (w/bushings & ball joints), sway bar bushings, sway bar links, complete strut assemblies; i.e. the entire front suspension, and still have some "clunks".

Forgot to mention hubs and right cv/axle left coming soon as time allows.
