Thank You to chevyhhr community

Good morning,

I have a 2007 HHR LT with the 2.4L, Automatic.

I wanted to say thank you to Donbrew, OldBLue and others that have posted enough information on here to fill the library of congress. This forum helped me navigate through some extensive troubleshooting and I learned a lot about my HHR.

About a year ago I started taking it apart to repair some of the engine oil leaks. Only recently did I follow through, replace gaskets and seals and put it all back together. Because I am old and forgetful, I was able to find diagrams to get my harness properly reinstalled, and identify all of the engine grounds that needed cleaning and reconnecting. I found the list of trouble codes and what they mean, as well as links to the service manual that allowed me to run things down using my Foxwell scanner.

Since I've had my HHR I have wrestled with the traction control light. But only this round taught me that the activation of that light has little to do with ABS, wheel speed sensors or traction control. Through reading this forum and the very educational responses recorded here, I've learned that when the C0561 code is thrown for invalid serial data, there is something in the "sensor loop" that is out of tolerance or failed.

by researching this forum, every answer can be found for every problem. My issue with the traction control disabling turned out to be a combination of faulty MAP and the VVT actuators.

So to close, I don't need a thing from you. You've already provided everything I needed to get this thing back in service, (with no codes or warning lights). And I wanted to leave a hearty thank you.

Have a great day, and if you are running down a problem, don't give up.

Joel
