Hello eng, not sure how you found us, but a Chevrolet Sonic and a Chevrolet HHR couldn't be more different.

It's like comparing an Apple to a Watermelon, nothing in common really.

By clicking the link below to Chevrolet, you can download an Owner's Manual and chat online with a Chevrolet representative who can help you with your 2013 Sonic.

Chevrolet Cars, Trucks, SUVs, Crossovers and Vans

I'll leave your post open, as some of our HHR owners here also have Chevrolet Sconic models.

However, you describe a properly working alarm system on an HHR.

Locking the car with the remote fob activates the alarm, unlocking with the remote fob turns it off. There are personalisation options in the Driver Information Center.

Perhaps an Owner Manual would be of assistance.

I cannot assist you with a solution when you are unwilling to provide the needed information. When you have the VIN, we will be happy to assist you with the concern.

If you had an Owner Manual your questions would be answered.

That is the solution for you.

Here is a link to an online 2013 Sonic Owner Manual:

See pages 2-10 & 2-11

I cannot write in any language but English. Here are the relevant passages from the 2013 Sonic Owner Manual.

The lights are supposed to stay on for about 10 minutes after you remove the key. That is in the manual, also.

I have now exceeded my helpfulness quotient for the day.
