theres a loose bracket jiggling around under my hood.

and its been like this since the factory. its gotten worse (26k miles on it now) and i never could figure out what it was, and never took it to the dealer. i finally found it today.

what is this bracket, and has anyone elses came loose/been loose? it looks like its completely not even bolted down on the bottom (cant see in the pics), but the nut is there, its like someone screwed the nut on the bolt, but didnt put the bracket on before they put the nut on lol.

Is that the back of the engine? Looks like the air box bracket...

Looks like the Bracket is Broken, see the Purple Square area.

Looks like the end part is still under the nut, may need to remove and weld it.

First pic looks to be missing a rubber piece your Stock OEM air filter box Pops on there just like the otherside is.

The rubber grommet may still be on the airbox itself, I took mine off last year for a K&M I forget exactly how the OEM one is setup, so check it out. May just need to get a little welding on the bracket and fixed.

ufvj, I bid you the best of luck with your going to the dealership for it. They told me that they are not produced, nor in stock at dealerships anymore...

remove & weld or braze it.. Whatever is easier for ya.. No biggie..
Plus if you add an extra plate (fish-plate it), braze it in. It will be stronger than it ever was..

gmparsdirect and a couple of other places I checked claim to have them for around $20. Mine broke just above the bot hole (same place as in pic), so brazing/welding probably won't do it. However, that part does not come with a junkyard motor, so they end up somewhere, check at pick-a-part places, it's just 2 nuts holding it on. Also fits Hummer.
