Whenever I stop quickly there is a thunking sound like in the rear gas tank area. I have had the complete gas tank replaced and it is still there. The dealership has no clue as to what it could be. Any suggestions?

 

Loose spare tire. Loose battery. Loose jack. Loose bowling ball. Loose 50-gallon drum of medical waste...could be anything.

 

Just curious Why did you have to have your gas tank replaced? Don't think I've seen anything about that before!

 

Might just be the gas in the tank.

 

As many have said or hinted....it could be anything.

Have you tried driving the car with someone laying in the back to determine and localize the "thunk".

You cannot count on the dealer to do that.

I hear that off and on and just figured it was the float in the gas tank.
