Time for new brakes. Ideas on cost?

Well, after 80,000 miles, my car has a shimmy and noise up front on braking. How much have you all been spending on brake jobs? Probably need pads and rotors up front, shoes in the back.

Don't know what a mechanic will charge, but Napa sells the rotors for $43-60 ea depending on whether you want the "premium" or "ultra" rotors. The front pads are $22 for cheapie organic, or $54 for ceramic. So unless the shop uses cheapie parts, you're looking at ~$150 before labor for the fronts. And I would bet most of your vibration issues are from the front brakes.
BeanWagon, the prices you're quoting must be just machining and not replacing the rotors. And even then they're cheap.

I would install life time pads & shoes, then they are good for the life of the car. If you do them your self you will spend aprox. $130.00 -$150.00 total.
