I’m in my 60’s , it took about 3 hours the first time, mostly looking for tools and stuff , the second time was half that.
I had to go back in because, I didn’t double check the timing marks , the crank sprocket was off one tooth, giving a P0016 code.

It’s really a matter of knowledge and how to apply it, and my resistance to paying someone over $800.00 for the labour.

Yeah and even then, you have to trust the knowledge of the person you are paying, and then hassle with them if they install it a tooth of themselves.

Right like did they torque the bolts and fasteners correctly? Did they ?
Ive undone balancer bolts by hand , no real effort.

my 2011 HHR threw the timing chain at 82,000 miles

oops.. its actually a 2011.. my equinox is a 2013..
Anyway.. my timing chain on the 2011 hhr went at 82 000.. I'm bombed because I LOVED that car!
