I really think when these cars are bought new a lot of owners go by dic and wait to long to change oil .. what I do is wait to about 50 percent which runs between 4 thousand to 5 thousand miles ...

I go by the DIC and change at around 25%. I get just over a year between changes, roughly 8,000-10,000 miles, I use Pennzoil platinum full synthetic and have never had any engine troubles.

You had to jinx yourself didn’t you! Greybeard.
I’ve seen the front guide fail several times, the bolt breaks and it goodbye engine.
when I replace a chain set , I install a retainer bolt in the plug hole in the head,

And that was caused by oil change intervals?

Yes, the guide gets brittle and cracks off . The tensioner get weak with low oil pressure.

I'll run right out and change my oil, then... When it gets down to 25% on the DIC.

I found some time to pull the valve cover off car, timing chain looks good on firewall side of engine and top of engine but on the front of the engine chain is loose. What do you guys think i need to replace?
