Tpms (no rke)
Tpms (no rke)
Okay, please don't bother re-posting the TPMS matching procedure. I have a 2008 HHR LT (fleet/rental); That means among other things it DOES NOT have RKE or remote start, there IS NO remote receiver module, I have had it checked at the local dealer, NO REMOTE RECEIVER.
The question is: How does one rotate the tires and then re-match the TPMS to the wheels.
My local Goodwrench has no idea of what I may be talking about. In fact, they do not even know how to remove the wheel covers (the FLEET version has wheel covers that the sales dept. tried to call "MAGS". They did rotate the tires before I bought it, did not re-match TPMS.
Thanks,
Don

Also The caps if they are not clipped on are held on with the lug nuts or caps on lugs if they are exposed. I would have to see what you have as I am not familiar with what is stock on your model.
Also if your dealer does not know I would find a new dealer! Things like this if not know can be found out in their HHR computer manuals. All they have to do is read.
because
As was stated, the instructions in the "how to" do not apply as There is NO "RKE", there is NO "Remote Receiver Module" in the car thus there is NO "Remote Keyless Entry Key Fob" on a "FLEET/RENTAL" package.
Also, reltating to the wheel covers, I found out that the dealer was unaware of the removal procedure because they first tried to pry one off, then used a air gun to remove (and relace) the Plastic Retaining nuts, when I foolishly went to them to replace a tire at my expense. I am aware of the proper procedure to remove the "wheel covers", the idiots at the dealership could not tell the difference between "MAGS" and hub caps was my point.
If Mr. Goodwrench does not know the vehicle then who would?
I have been to at least 2 different GM/Chevy dealers to ask about the TPMS and they all seem to be unaware of the "Fleet/Rental" LT option.
I had tried not to rant in the first post, sorry. This applies only to the "Fleet/Rental" HHR LT, there is a big difference, I.E. : no RKE,no Remote start,no MAGs,no ONSTAR,no automatic Day/Nite mirror,no compass. In this case the LT actually stands for Lite or V 0.5 or perhaps LS V 1.5. That last is not complaint, but explanation. I like the car for what it is, a working vehicle. 45,000 miles a year, it's the support that's a problem.

Mr. Goodwrench can read or locate the manual? You would think that in the Washington,D.C. area some service Dept. would be aware of "fleet package" vehicles. And I have decided that "Certified Used" with a CARFAX report is pretty useless, that is a rant I do not want to burden you good folks with.
strange
I also have a fleet/rental unit..bought from Budget rentals and it did not come with a remote FOB. I bought one at my dealer and they programmed it just fine.
Mine is a 2008 LS model..
The standard procedure for programming the TPMS works as advertised also. The codes in glove box also list it as a fleet vehicle. Can't remember the RPO code but I could look it up again.
If your dealer cannot remove hubcaps properly, I would try another dealer.

After I bought the HHR, and was told that it did not have a RKE, I nosed around in the compartments and found a plastic bag with the owners manual and a remote fob. So, I went back to the Service Dept. and requested that they program the remote and give me a second one. After about 45 minutes the Technician came out and told me that his "whatever they call the magic programming box" ( my words) told him there was no receiver, and he then went on a quest in the vehicle to physically find it to no avail. He said evidently somebody had just thrown the fob in the car, because there was no receiver in the vehicle. He seemed like he really cared and might have actually been trained.
donbrew; I have a fleet/rental LS it dose not have remote start but it has key fobs. PM chevymg your vin. and have him get you a as built sheet. It will have all your RPO codes and tell you what fobs you need. Thats what I had to do. It will say remote start delete I got my fobs on ebay alot cheaper.
The Prob seems to be no RTLDR ? maybe wrong letters but the receiver in the vehicle. I have since added an after market Remote Keyless Entry which does not directly interface to the BCM. Mine is a LT (in name only evidently). Auto Trans seems to be the basic upgrade from LS.
The car is what I wanted it to be. I just want things to work as published?.
