tpms wont sync

i got a set for my winter tires and they are the newer style of the rubber valve that hangs freely. The set i have on my summers are the ones that screw/attach to the rim.
Now the set i have for my winters dont seem to be syncing to the car, i followed the steps, the driver side signal comes on, so i deflate the tire a bit for it to recognize it, i get 2 horn beeps then the passenger side signal supposed to come on but it doesnt, and none of the rear signals come on either. I tried it 3 times and same thing keeps happening. Also, the passenger front side reads 16psi on my air gauge setting when you can see that the tire looks inflated..any ideas?

I think you are describing the Dorman TPMS. I am not sure that they work with GM system. Or, you may be thinking that the valve stem does the TPMSing, It is an attachment to the valve stem that does the job. If you paid less than $50 for each "valve stem" (parts only) then you probably did not get new TPMS units.

2 beeps indicates "time out" and ends programming, which means that the car got no signal in 3 minutes, your front left is not TPMS. Where you able to re set the positions previously? Was the car a rental in a previous life?

NEVER go by sight when adjusting tire pressure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (THAT'S LOTS OF EMPHASIS)

i could be wrong about the distance between my car and the backyard, probably more that 30feet ..but the sensors are GM. They came off a Cobalt that a friend was selling so i took his sensors and i know that they work!

Ya i get the 2 beeps which i know its "timing out" and not reading them. I have never reset my original sensors (in the summer tires), dealership did it the last time.
The car was bought used earlier this year, i am the 2nd owner, it was an older gentleman and he barely drove it, car is mint and no it wasnt a rental or lease.

Try this test: pretend that different tires are on the front left, fool the computer. To see if the fault lies with one or more of the sending units. Was the Cobalt a 2008 or newer? I think it was 2008 when they changed systems, maybe 2007.

I seem to remember that you do get a pressure displayed for each tire, right. Not --. I think 30 feet should be far enough, but you could try moving them farther away.

2008 was first year for hhr tpms, 2007 nothing..

I still think the summer tires may be too close.
