Traction & Stability Control Warnings On

Well the warning lights & auto shut off of the systems went on today. Reset after turn off & turn on-but went the after a few minutes happened again. With the car running I had to go into the hatch area and noticed my brake lights were locked on!

Went under the dash, found the brake light switch to the right of the brake pedal assembly and flicked it with my finger. Brake lights went out. I turned the HHR off, restarted and drove away-no warning notice issues. I will be going to the dealer next Monday for a new switch.

Any of you guys with a random traction light issue-put the car in park and check to see if your brake lights are on. The brake lights are tied into the traction control & cruise control and may be your problem.

30,000 on my 09. I don't ride the brake-but it is used a cagillion times going to & from work. A 28 mile belt parkway run takes 1 1/2 hours or more in traffic...

Guess that would work the dickens out of that switch, yours is an accelerated test case.

Hey Michelle!

I have to say my experience with Robert Chevrolets Service Department (here in Hicksville 11801 Long Island NY) has been great and very accommodating. Don Beilinson, the techs, & the Service Manager have been great. Dealers are knocked more than praised-maybe you could forward my cudos to them?
