I am in the process of ordering parts for my HHR. I am going to replace the struts, strut mounts rear shocks, etc. I want to replace everything that needs attention and I noticed while looking around that the rubber on the front trans mount is cracked/separated. I can see light through it. I don't think that is a good thing. I don't have the HHR up in the air to check but I would think the rear mount is in similar shape.

Who has replaced their trans mounts and would you recommend replacing both of them? Anything else I should look at replacing while I am tearing the front end apart?

Before you PANIC, look closely to check if the holes are there from the factory. Some have slots in the rubber. If they are indeed torn then they need replacing. If you have a lift and a trans support of some kind the job "should be easy". Also, check the solid mount from the trans to engine on the passenger side, mine was cracked maybe from the junkyard motor replacement.
