Unhappy transmission not engaging

Replaced rear motor mount on my 2007 hhr while on ramps, engine supported by jack. had to remove bracket too because couldn't break loose cross bolt. reinstalled bracket then mount, had to jack up engine alittle to re-align bolts. went to bed, next morning couldn't drive off ramps cause transmission acts like not engaged,no engine light,no transmission leaks.SUGGESTIONS?

The bracket that holds rear engine mount

That goes up in a harness appears to be intact at transmission juction

On a 2007 hhr, The connection at the shift cable and shift lever at the transaxle has worn out? What do I need to secure that connection? I can push the cable(looks like a rod) tip onto the lever, but afraid while driving will come apart?

Rather than start a new thread now that you have the source of the problem, I've merged your other thread into your first one (thread/post is directly above this post).

It just snaps on. Should make a positive click. Otherwise you need a new cable.

If you only replaced the mount, how did the shift cable even get touched?

Turns out it was the cable link disengaging with the lever. It happened because I had to go in from the top to reinstall the bracket on the engine that holds the motor mount and my hands dislodged it. So the cable doesn't snap on the lever that goes to the transaxle, guess worn out.Do I buy a new cable?

Because had to reinstall the bracket that holds the mount from the top(under the hood) and mount that to the engine. My hands probably disloged it

the cable end should just snap back on it is reusable, so should just snap back on, if not and it pops off just shifting while the car is parked then , you'll need a new cable.
some members are parting out their HHR's perhaps they might have a used one available.
