6.5? I think I read in a different forum on here that the plug on the passenger side is essentially the max fill line.

So if nothing comes out with 6.5 poured in, I should add more until it trickles out?

And wait for the trickle to stop before sealing the trans?

Yes but you top it off after you warm up the transmission fluid

Is it a "good eyed-deer" to shift through all gears for 5 seconds each after filling 6.5qt but before loosening the plug?

As an FYI so no one makes the mistake that I made:

The detroit axle #986M_AX fixed cup is too large to be used with the fitzall support bearing. I will be bringing my calibrated dial caliper home from work to see what the outside diameters measure to.

I am currently having a silly debate on whether I want to possibly machine the detroid axle cup down to fit the fitzall support bearing or if I just want to return it.

Two of my brain cells and my wallet are telling me to return it but the my third and last brain cell wants to see if it can be done.

It can be turned , just abit of a problem chucking it up in the lathe, I thought I mentioned that in my thread about the fitzall kit .

I did not see that comment. I will be leaving work after I finish reading my next work package. I work in a Shipyard so I may have access to a "free" lathe next week, it might cost me a favor or two. I will install the fitzall bearing with my old axle today and drain/fill the trans if the weather holds up.

I sure do miss driving my HHR around.
