Trany flush

Trany flush

I had a recommended flush aftee 60,000 miles. No problems before. My last vehicle inspection at the dealer 2 weeks before was all green. I took it to the chevy dealer to be flushed. They are claming the passenger side transaxle seal is leaking. Overfilled or just being played? Thoughts?

Welcome to the site, first why the transmission fluid flush, it is a lifetime fluid, per owners manual.

x2 what Oldblue says.

Trans flush was not needed - as per info in your owners manual.
Seals leak on occasion - I don't think it too likely was it was over filled - but it still is a possibility.

even lifetime fluid gets dirty. I wouldnt have done one with high mileage. Anyway what is a good price for parts and labor they quoted me at 410 including tax 60 for the part and 150 per labor hr. Seems excessive.

Yes excessive, $410.00 parts and labour for an unnecessary fluid change is over the top.
Now if you simply want the reassurance of fresh fluid and a clean filter. No problem, change them. But it shouldn’t cost that much.

My flat rate book says 1.1 hour for 1 side 2.0 hour for both.

The flat rate is 1.1 hour for 1 side 2.0 for both. $150/hour is excessive in most countries, but dealers tend to charge their customers more than independents, On the theory that "those idiots think if it costs more it is better".

I think he was asking about the seal not the flush.

yes I was refering to seal. I bought the car ftom a toyota dealer they did a multipoint inspection 11 days ago with oil change. They actually take video. No leaks. Most likely the flush caused this. The flush was preformed at a chevy dealership and they want 410 to replace this stupid 60 dollar seal. 150 labor hour ×2 pissed

If it was a flush not a drain and fill it is unlikely that it was overfilled, the machine puts back what came out.

However, if this is the passenger side, it is from the level control plug (where you check the level).

Used car "multi-point" inspection also known as cigarette break.

can you send me the link or screenshot for the flat rate on this job. I know it cant be two hours especially with that claw that pulls out the axle. I mean its not a jeap where u got to remove the bearing to get to it
