Some people had this problem after removing the steering wheel. There are fragile parts in there that can break or be re-assembled incorrectly.

As suspected the signal cancel switch was weak. The dealer replaced the complete lever assembly.

I’ve had my Turn Signal Assembly replaced twice(2) under warrantee and my forth is now bad as well and I am out of warrantee.

I’ve considered asking for a review of the problem with Chevy, but I think when things get warm I’ll just take it apart and figure out what Chevy has done wrong and fix it myself. I figure why keep using the same bad parts – the original and two replacements have gone bad.

If I can remember to take pictures I may do a write up.

I test drove an 08 on wednesday that did the same thing with the right turn signal. It only had 27000 miles on it too?

I had mine looked at. They said everything is fine that I just wasn't turning sharp enough to click it back off. Hmmmm I will be testing this theory this weekend.

If i was a lazy person i would have said the same thing. Sounds like something is wrong with it . My HHR has over 138,000 miles and the only problem is a leak that comes and goes into the rear floorboard. When i take it back to the dealer for the next mobil 1 oil change i will have it looked at.

I too was initially rebuffed by the dealer.

I proved it by getting out my camera, putting it into video mode at a stoplight where a 90-degree turn is mandatory and videoed the problem with audio. This way the dealer cannot say it is just your imagination or you are not turning enough. The audio helped because there was no cancel click.

This is what I had planned on doing Sno. This is the same dealer I bought my Dodge at that I traded in for my HHR, so I am used to them not believing me. I think its cause I'm a woman, sad to say. I took my Dodge to them 5 different times because I heard a knocking noise that they claimed it was'nt making. Turned out my strut was about to fall off.

dont let them BS you MJ, if working properly the signal should cancel with just a good 45 degree turn. Grab your salesman by the tie and take him for a ride...
