Turn Signal Lever no longer cancels automatically

Of course, since I just rolled over 36K miles, now this happens.

Anyways, my turn signal lever isn't cancelling automatically after I complete a turn. Right now only right turns don't cancel.

Anyone else have this problem?

Also, how do I repair it (part numbers would be helpful)?

I've had this problem for a very long time now. I never took it in to be fixed. It's just a habit now to return the lever to the neutral position.

Here is the thread on it. Perhaps ChevyMgr has some insight in this from when this was first posted way back when.

Yes, I originally did a search and found that thread. But since it was from 2 yrs ago, and nothing seemed to become of it, I thought I'd start a new thread to get some new insights.

Might just be an adjustment. I had to take mine back after the steering column was replaced since it did not reliably cancel the turn signals. Dealer said it was just a basic adjustment.

Possibly the multi-function switch. Costs around $150 to fix.

I had the same problem about 3 weeks ago. But mine would not cancel from left turn all the time.......i out of ten times it would not cancel. Dealer replaced the turn signal multifuntion switch and all is fine. Mine was under warranty with only 14000 on it but its only 8 months old.

Mine started doing this at around 36,000 miles 1 month ago. It doesn't cancel to the right. I found that putting a little more effort in straightening the wheel would cancel it. I am reluctant to squirt WD-40 into it. Maybe rub some white lithium grease in there with a Q-tip?

My 08 panel is at the dealer for this right now, they can't reproduce the problem. It looks like I'm going to have to drive an hour to show them it doesn't always cancel. I explained a right turn followed by a left will do it every time. With only 1200 miles left on the bumper to bumper I'm not taking it back until its fixed.

mine has been replaced twice. once at about 15000 for a intermittent left turn cancel that we are talking about. and the second time the manual headlights would not work. i went through a construction zone and you are supposed to turn headlights on, well when i turn them on they went out and the police officer in front of me had a talk about that. i won the argument by showing him the swicth was in the on position and the lights were not on. he said to get it fixed and let me go with a verbal warning.
